How to set up your email account on Gmail

Follow the steps below to send and receive your emails through Gmail.

  1. Open gmail.com in your preferred browser

  2. Click the settings cog icon (top right)

  3. Click See all settings

  4. Now Click the Accounts and Import tab

  5. Look for Check mail from other accounts and then click Add an mail account

  6. A small window will open asking for your email address.
    Enter your email address and then click next

  7. If not already ticked select
    Import emails from my other account (POP3) and then click next

  8. Enter the following details
    Username: YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS
    Password: YOUR EMAIL PASSWORD
    POP Server: pop3.stackmail.com 
    Port: 995

    Leave a copy of retrieved message TICK
    Always use a secure connection TICK
    Label message UNTICK
    Archive incoming UNTICK

    Click add account

  9. Tick Yes, I want to be able to send mail as ...  and then click next

  10. Enter your full name OR your business name

  11. Make sure Treat as an alias has a TICK now click Next Step

  12. Enter the following details:

    SMTP Server: smtp.stackmail.com
    Port: 465
    Username: YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS
    Password: YOUR EMAIL PASSWORD

    Secured connection SSL TICK

  13. Now Click Add Account >>

  14. You may be sent a confirmation email from gmail to the email account you are trying to set up. You can access this confirmation email by logging into our webmail

    webmail.mediacityway.com
    Username: YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS
    Password: YOUR EMAIL PASSWORD

    Open the Gmail Confirmation email and click on the confirmation link.
    A new page asking for your confirmation. Click the Confirm button. 

  15. Your account is now set up and you can send and receive emails

Send from your new account

When replying to a message Gmail may set the send email address to your default gmail account rather than the account you have just setup. To change this, follow these steps:

  1. Click the settings cog icon (top right)

  2. Click See all settings

  3. Click the Accounts and Import tab

  4. Within Send mail as make sure Reply from the same address to which the message was sent is selected.

    When replying to a message:
    Reply from the same address to which the message was sent
    Always reply from default address (currently name@example.com)

We always recommend that you send an email from your email address to your email address as this ensures Gmail is sending and receiving your emails correctly.
